Red Tape currently has prime-time, performance space available for June, July, August, and November 2010.
Red Tape’s eclectic space is ideal for itinerant fringe companies (theatre, dance, performance art – all are welcome). Our 25’ x 40’ x 25’ venue boasts a sprung wood floor (ideal for movement and dance). The 50 seat theatre is easily configured to suit almost any performance need.
The theatre is centrally located at 621 W Belmont (Belmont and Broadway) in the heart of Lakeview East. The night-life is vibrant and the theatre is near several restaurants, bars, and retail stores. The theatre is accessible by Red Line (Belmont Stop) as well as the Halsted, Belmont, Clark, and Broadway busses.
Performances are available for Prime-time slots on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rates are remarkably affordable and include a unique lobby space partnership with the Chicago Underground Library.

The Third Space Project
The Third Space Project is a one-of-a-kind partnership between Red Tape Theatre and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Third Space is about re-imagining the campus at St. Peters. It’s about creating a community space that provides artistic, spiritual, and intellectual fulfillment. We are creating a space that reflects the vibrancy and multi-faceted nature of our city. And we look forward to building strong relationships all types of artists.
Currently, St. Peters is home to one of the most eclectic and flexible performance venues in Chicago. Renovation plans are being set to outfit the performance space with state-of-the-art equipment. The 40’ deep space boasts 25’ ceilings and beautiful, sprung-wood flooring (ideal for dance and movement). The flexible seating is comfortable and easy to reconfigure. The elegant lobby space is ideal for pre and post-show events.
Red Tape has partnered with the Chicago Underground Library to offer our patrons a one-of-a-kind lobby experience that the New York Times raved about. CUL offers a home for independent media and a meeting place for the producers and creators of that exciting work. The library is open to the public and houses over 1,500 items in their collection.
We are working to make St. Peters the most exciting venue for fringe artists in Chicago. Thousands of visitors come through our doors every year. If you are interested in learning more about Third Space, please contact us at info@redtapetheatre.org.
